The concept of Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) is gaining attention in the signal processing community, especially in the context of 6G technologies. In this workshop, we will focus on the concept of opportunistic ISAC, where the sensing function is added to communication networks without additional hardware. This concept was first introduced in 2006, where weather sensing using existing measurements from wireless commercial microwave links (CMLs) was presented. Since then, it has spread to other opportunistic technologies, such as satellites, smartphones and personal weather stations. The workshop will present the state-of-the-art of opportunistic ISAC for weather sensing and will focus on future trends and on open problems to the signal processing community.
